candle care

TMF candles are designed to support focus and routine through considered use. Caring for your candle helps it burn cleanly, evenly, and safely over time.

Before you light

  • Place your candle on a heatproof dish or heat-resistant surface to protect surfaces and control excess wax.
  • Ensure the candle is positioned on a stable, level surface, away from movement or vibration.

Wick care

  • Trim the wick to 5mm before each use.
  • A trimmed wick supports an even, clean, smoke-free burn.
  • If the flame becomes large, flickers, or produces smoke, extinguish the candle and trim the wick before relighting.

During use

  • Burn candles away from drafts, fans, or air conditioners to avoid uneven burning.
  • Keep candles at least 5cm apart when burning multiple candles at once.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of children or pets.

Burn time

  • Do not burn a candle for longer than 2 hours at a time. Shorter timeframes for smaller candles.
  • Allow the candle to cool fully before relighting.
  • Stop burning the candle when approximately 1cm of wax remains.

Extinguishing

  • Extinguish the flame gently. Avoid blowing directly onto the candle, as this can cause wax splatter or smoke.
  • Ensure the flame is fully extinguished before leaving the space.

Variations & natural characteristics

TMF candles are hand-poured in small batches using considered materials. As a result, you may notice:

  • slight variations in colour
  • subtle surface changes
  • minor wax movement during burning

These characteristics are natural and do not affect performance.

A note on use

TMF candles are designed to be used, not displayed indefinitely. Thoughtful care supports:

  • cleaner burns
  • longer life
  • safer use
  • a calmer, more consistent experience
